1st week of July
Ryan,
we are headed up your way this coming tuesday july 1st for 5 days on the green. We have a motorcyle for a shuttle and we are planning on fishing all three sections. So here is the question. If you had 5 days to fish the green with the current conditions? How would you use those 5 days? Which sections would you say have been fishing best? We are planning on spending most of our time on B and C and probably evening doing an overnighter on the B. We are trying to finalize our plans so any up to date info would be great. Thanks for your help

August or September?
We're planning a float/wade trip in either the late August or late September. What are the differences in types of fishing that we could expect between the two months? -

B section camp sites
So here is the tentative plan. We are planning on getting to the green mid day and we are planning an overnighter on the B section. We were thinking of hitting the A section then down to the upper B before dark. We are planning on fishing the B the next day and then camping at indian crossing. So the question is what upper B section camp sites would be best? We would like one that we can fish well but we don't want to be to far down the B. I was thinking Grasshopper #1 or maybe one of the several camps before it on the north side. Any good info. on these upper camp sites grasshopper and above would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Pstruh -

July or August
We are planning our annual 3 to 4 day float trip for this year and we are struggling at deciding on a month. Last year we fished mid July and had a great time. We prefer to fish moderate to big dryflies with a smaller dry or nymph dropper. We will mostly fish A and B. So what are the pros and cons of July versus August. Weather wise, hatch wise, fly wise or are there many differences between the two months. Any info. would be appreciated.

I am bringing my two sons, ages 16-12, on our first trip to the Green River. REALLY EXCITED. Fished the White in the fall and had a great time. I would like some advice on where to stay. Looking for a moderately priced hotel/motel/cabin set-up. Kind of late, need to get going on it. thanks so much for any help. -

2007 year on the green
So as a guide how would you rate the 2007 season as compared to others? It sounds like the Cicadas were awesome this year! We had a great trip in July. With many fish and several nice ones. What techniques did you take the biggest fish on and why do you think that is? How big and what was average for this year? Since you have fish the green for so long what are your overall feelings as far as size and numbers over the last 10-15 years. Have the fish gotten smaller, pickier, do they fight less? Also what section fished the best for you this year? Just a few questions for fun and curiosity. Thanks for the great reports and info. keep it coming.

Raft for a drifter
Ryan,
It looks like you may have guided out of a raft in chile. Is that true? Or have you had any experience with a fishable raft for drifting? I am looking into a raft for a few reasons we could use it for white water when not drifting, we could use it on lakes, and we could haul it to the green when we get the chance. I understand they are more sluggish than a drift boat, but are also safer for a newer guy on the oars. Have you ever rowed one or fished out of one? or do you have any suggestions on brands and set-up. Any info. would be appreciated. I would love a drift boat but can't justify it for 1-2 float trips down the green a year.
Thanks

Thanks for your help
Dutch John,
We ended up floating all three sections of the green on the 12-14th. We had great weather, a great time floating and caught plenty of fish. We seemed to catch more fish in the C and B sections with our biggest few fish coming from the B section. Caddis, yellow sallies, PMX's were the most productive. We didn't have time to float the swallow canyons are they worth the float. I just wanted to say thanks for your willingness to share information. It was my father-in laws first stab at the oars and we had a great time. Thanks again

Flies for July 12-14
Hey all,
I am heading to the green in the middle of July. It sounds like all three sections are fishing well. I am in the process of tying to fill the fly boxes. What flies would you not leave home without for the middle of July for the A,B and C sectioins respectively. Any info. would be great . Thanks,

Floating June 14-16 th
I am thinking of hitting the green June 14-16th if I can get work off. Is the hatch strong enough that it will last that long? I am sure the fish will have seen plenty of patterns by then. Are there any other dropper flies that may add to increased takes? Any info. would be appreciated.

Cicada Season
What would you all say is the typical cicada season? By what time will we know if it is bombs away or a bust for another year? I have hit several good hatches through the years and it doesn't get much better. Also I have never fished the B during the hatch do they hatch that far down on the river? Any ideas or info. would be appreciated.

Want to get away from the CITY?
Floating down the river is so relaxing. The scenery is amazing! The water is so clear you can watch the fish as they go by. The fishing isn't bad either. My kids even catch fish. We love being out at the green river! -

comment on proposed development
I agree with your position. I am concerned that the proposed development could lead to limitation of access to the river. It is hard to believe that a group could make that kind of investment without seeking ways to give special considerations to their clients. -

Little Hole Development
I would say I am against putting in any kind of development at Little Hole. I like how there isn't any development of anykind on the A and B sections and I think it should stay that way. How does everyone else feel about this? -
