Cicada Season
What would you all say is the typical cicada season? By what time will we know if it is bombs away or a bust for another year? I have hit several good hatches through the years and it doesn't get much better. Also I have never fished the B during the hatch do they hatch that far down on the river? Any ideas or info. would be appreciated.

Cicada's when and where
Posted by dutchjohn101 on 5/05/2007Generally speaking cicadas start around mid May and could go into July. This year the first cicada I saw was on April 25, which is really early. The past week was great, but now it is snowing heavily and all the cicadas that have hatched will be dead. It is possible that the cicada season this year is come and gone. Most likely there will be more cicadas this year. The possibility doesn't end until mid July. Cicadas are very hit and miss. The best thing you could do is stay up to date on fishing reports. As for the B section, the cicada hatch doesn't seem to coinside with the A section. Some years all the cicadas are on B, and some years they are all on A section.
