Little Hole Development
I would say I am against putting in any kind of development at Little Hole. I like how there isn't any development of anykind on the A and B sections and I think it should stay that way. How does everyone else feel about this?

Little Hole done right
Posted by dutchjohn101 on 10/06/2006I agree with trojans #1 that if it was done right it would be beneficial. There is a lack of accomodations here in the dutch john area. The problem with the Little Hole proposal is that it will only a accomodate a select few. It would be on the side of the river with no current roads ( with exception of a very bumpy one lane dirt road that takes over an hour to get to from flaming gorge dam. I have heard rumors that they would fly people into the lodge. I'm not to interested in hearing a helicopter fly over my head while fishing. I don't think this would enhance the area. The majority of fishermen are not going to be able to afford a place that's a $1000 a night and you have to fly into. I see this as a few people trying to make this there own private playground excluding as many people as possible. These are only a couple of thoughts as I see this being done wrong, not right. I would definately support a place done right and in a place that would be beneficial to all and not just a select few.

Lodge at Little Hole
Posted by Trojans#1 on 9/24/2006I have been fishing the Green River for over 10 years now and it is definately one of my favorite rivers. Beautiful canyon, thousands of fish, and a great place to view fish behavior. The local accomodations however, are average at best. I also enjoy fishing the Henry's Fork of the Snake in Idaho. I have stayed at the Trout Hunter Lodge which is on the riverfront of the Henry's Fork. I love the close proximity of the lodge to the river which allows for more time spent fishing. A lodge at Little Hole could be a great benefit to the area IF it is built and managed right. The Trout Hunter Lodge has not hurt the fishing on the Henry's Fork and I feel that if the developers into the Little Hole lodge learn from other areas it would be a great asset to an awesome fishery.
